Kaylin and I had some online brainstorming before we met for her senior session. The result was the idea for this themed session. Once we decided to do Alice and Wonderland, the ideas just kept coming and coming. We spent lots of time texting and facebooking each other about our plans. Typically, over-photoshopping an image is frowned on in professional photography (the goal is to get it right in camera). But tonight, I’m happy to be able to showcase some photoshop skills that I usually try to avoid using.
There is a very general story line, but nothing you should think too hard about, it was just really fun!
And I wanted to finish up today’s post with this video of the session:
Song | Painting Flowers by All Time Low
Hair | Michelle Johnson at Styles in Joplin
Makeup | Katie Snow of Snow Kissed Makeup
Cookies | Ali Bee’s Bake Shop

Too stinking cool. 🙂 Too bad you’re not closer to Milwaukee to do pics for me… 🙂
Amazing photos!!!!
Wow! What a fun idea! the photos look amazing!
Jillian,
I can’t count the number of times I have looked at these. I absolutely LOVE all of them! And the video was an awesome, extra suprise! I can’t thank you enough for all the pictures of this session and the other one. I am soooo glad I asked you to do Kaylin’s senior pics. We couldn’t be more pleased. Everyone I’ve talked to loved these and has looked at them more than once. Below is my brothers email response.
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… I am serious, the pictures were very good!.. And I felt like I was watching a real music video there….love the song too, that is right up my alley. If that band has not shot a video for that song, someone should send that to them seriously. It fit perfectly. Kaylin looks so awesome in those pics…my favorite by far!
Hey Jillian!!!! AMAZING!!!!! It brought tears to my eyes! What a great storyteller you are! God has blessed you with a great ability!
These are BEAUTIFUL!!! 🙂
Thank you so much for the cookies! They were not only beautiful but also very tasty. 🙂
Beautiful! The young lady is really photogenic too.
My daughter will really appreciate this comment. Thanks!
Wow! I clicked over from Ali Bee’s. What an incredible shoot. Love all the details. What a neat spirited young lady…something tell me she’ll go far in life!
Thank you Carrie! I think she will go far in life as well. She will appreciate your comment.
You have an incrediable talent. We love what you have captured in the photos of our beautiful grandaughter. The video is just over the top. Her uncle says this band needs to use this as their video for the song.
Thanks for all you did for the families in Joplin.
You have such talent. I’m continually impressed with your work! Love this!!
I love this shoot so much! The fact that you used an ATL song too?! Icing on the cake! Keep it up! – Fellow photographer and ATL fan <3
I love your photography! Do you mind if I use the picture of the girl with the chess peice for the cover on my book? I won’t be getting paid for it. (I honestly don’t know the proper etiquette for these sorts of things or if asking is rude, so if I am, I am very sorry.)
